Goals to Reach for Volleyball Players

By: Michael P.

Every volleyball players must go step by step on a team, they cannot aim for a college trophy if they are at high school, or pretend to win the tournament with almost not training time, so it is important to have very clear volleyball goals for the entire season, have a big goal divide in several small goals, the most important about this is to keep the goals realistic and reachable for the moment you are living, for example, to accomplish a tournament so is important to keep a regularity, win important matches and follow a workout routine.

The goals of every player should be synchronized with the volleyball team's needs and the coach's work plan to reach a single goal as a group, that is why is so important the work team and the communication coach-player between teammates, that would increase the effectivity of the team because they won't came to the match without a guide or an idea of what to do this is part of the goals, have a volleyball game style and know how to using it, so a good goal should be to won at least 10 game per season using the game style.

Step by step

Established what are going to be the group and the individual goals for the team, the second step is to start working hard for accomplish them, you should aim for something depending on your team, the resources, the skills and level of the group, for example, if you are starting a new whole team is gonna be extremely hard for aim wining a title at the first season is better to try to reach a good position in the classification table.

Past mistakes and new opportunities are great to make changes on what is the team looking for, the mistakes to know which ways you should not take or to know which of them can lead you to the correct aspects that might help you to improve the team and the new opportunities are like the chance to go to playoffs or being invited to another tournament or have new equipment or players these kind of points can be game-changers.

So basically make your goals point as high as you can but keeping them realistic, what I mean is not to create lazy goals but think in something you have the opportunity to accomplish and also that could make a change to improve and go forward with the team's work plan, avoid stay in the same place, so take in consideration some risks, at the end you might success the total idea and it would be excellent but in the case you couldn't end up everything you should be proud because you made a great effort and changes, for example, the team have never win a tournament so you have as goal to win a title and your team plays as you expected and get to the finals in years it should be consider as big step for the next season, learn from what you failed this time.
